Retatrutide
Fat LossEli Lilly's triple agonist (GLP-1 / GIP / glucagon receptor). Currently the most potent weight-management investigational drug — Phase 2 trials reported ~24% body weight reduction at the highest dose. Phase 3 TRIUMPH program ongoing. Not yet FDA-approved.
CagriSema
Fat LossNovo Nordisk's once-weekly combination of cagrilintide (an amylin analog) and semaglutide. Designed to combine appetite suppression (semaglutide) with satiety + meal-size regulation (cagrilintide). REDEFINE-1 Phase 3 showed ~22.7% weight loss at 68 weeks — strong but below pre-trial expectations.
Orforglipron
Fat LossEli Lilly's once-daily ORAL non-peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist (LY3502970). The first oral small-molecule GLP-1 with no food/water restrictions (unlike Rybelsus). Phase 3 ACHIEVE program for diabetes and ATTAIN for obesity both ongoing.
Survodutide
Fat LossBoehringer Ingelheim / Zealand Pharma dual GLP-1 / glucagon receptor agonist (BI 456906). Strong Phase 2 obesity + MASH (liver) data. Phase 3 SYNCHRONIZE program ongoing across weight management, T2D, and liver disease indications.
GHK-Cu
SkinCopper tripeptide studied in dermatology for skin remodeling and wound contexts. Topical formulations are widely used in cosmetics.
Sermorelin
LongevityGHRH analog (first 29 amino acids of human GHRH). Stimulates endogenous growth hormone release. Approved for pediatric GH deficiency, widely used off-label in adults.
CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin
MuscleGrowth-hormone secretagogue combination studied for stimulating endogenous GH pulses in research contexts.
SS-31 (Elamipretide)
LongevityStealth BioTherapeutics' mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide. Binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane and improves electron transport chain efficiency. Multiple Phase 3 trials in genetic mitochondrial diseases (Barth syndrome, primary mitochondrial myopathy) with mixed regulatory outcomes.
Cerebrolysin
CognitiveMixture of low-molecular-weight peptides and free amino acids derived from porcine brain tissue (NOT a single defined peptide — a complex bioactive mixture). Approved in many European, Asian, and Latin American countries for stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, and Alzheimer's disease. NOT FDA-approved in the US.
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide)
LongevityCoenzyme essential for cellular energy production and DNA repair (NOT a peptide — it's a nucleotide). Available as IV infusion, intranasal, and oral precursors (NR, NMN). Heavily discussed in longevity communities. Direct NAD+ supplementation has weak human RCT support; precursors have somewhat better data.
Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8)
SkinSynthetic hexapeptide (Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg) marketed as a topical 'botox alternative.' Theoretically interferes with SNARE complex formation, reducing neurotransmitter release at neuromuscular junctions. Topical formulations are widely sold in cosmetics. Effect size is modest at best in published trials.
Semax
CognitiveHeptapeptide analog of ACTH(4-10) studied in Russia for cognitive and neuroprotective effects after stroke.
Epitalon
LongevityTetrapeptide studied primarily in Russian gerontology research for telomerase modulation and pineal function.
GHRP-2
MuscleGrowth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2. Synthetic hexapeptide ghrelin-receptor agonist. Stimulates GH release potently and consistently. Studied since the 1990s; approved in some Asian markets for diagnostic GH stimulation, NOT for therapeutic use in the US.
Kisspeptin
OtherNeuropeptide encoded by the KISS1 gene. Master regulator of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis — stimulates GnRH release and downstream LH/FSH/sex-hormone production. Studied as a diagnostic and therapeutic agent for hypogonadism, infertility, and sexual function. Not FDA-approved.
Selank
CognitiveSynthetic analog of a fragment of human tuftsin, studied in Russia for anxiolytic and nootropic effects.
AOD-9604
Fat LossModified fragment (amino acids 176-191) of the C-terminus of human growth hormone. Originally developed by Metabolic Pharmaceuticals as an anti-obesity agent. Failed to meet Phase 2 primary endpoints for weight loss. Repurposed as a research / supplement-market compound; in some jurisdictions classified as a food supplement.
Hexarelin
MuscleSynthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue developed in the 1990s. Stimulates GH release potently in short-term human studies. Concerns about tachyphylaxis (tolerance) with chronic use have limited clinical development.
Melanotan II
SkinSynthetic analog of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Binds melanocortin receptors (notably MC1R for tanning and MC4R for sexual function). Originally researched for therapeutic skin pigmentation; abandoned in clinical development. Sold heavily as a grey-market 'tanning peptide.' Significant safety concerns — Class A action by some regulators.
HGH Fragment 176-191
Fat LossSynthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 176-191 of human growth hormone. Stripped of growth-promoting and glucose-modulating effects (theoretically). Originally developed under the AOD-9604 program (see related entry). Marketed as a 'pure lipolytic' but human-trial evidence for clinically meaningful weight loss is weak.
DSIP
SleepDelta sleep-inducing peptide originally isolated in studies of EEG slow-wave activity. Modern human data is sparse.
